The Agriculture Specialty Practice develops comprehensive reinsurance solutions for agriculture risks worldwide, including coverage for growing crops, forestry/plantations, livestock/animal mortality, aquaculture and other related areas.
The Agriculture Specialty utilizes sophisticated modeling tools to help clients manage their hail and tornado exposures. For example, our proprietary thunderstorm-related hazard model, APOTH®, credibly estimates probabilistic losses for hail, tornado and nontornado high wind gusts.
Using APOTH, we can estimate losses for farm and commercial books of business. We can also extend the versatile model to model risks in other areas, such as approximating the seasonality associated with crop hail damage in order to determine crop vulnerability to hail exposure.
